Nestled at 10,152 feet of elevation in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, St. Vincent General Hospital is known as the highest elevation hospital in North America's highest city of Leadville, Colorado.

Leadville is a unique city and, because of its location, St. Vincent General Hospital has provided a base for many researchers from around the world to study high altitude and its effects.

We are available to provide medical services should they be needed, but we have a vast amount of recreational and historical opportunities for you to explore while in the area.

Located a short distance south of Interstate 70 on Hwy 91 (from Copper Mountain) or Hwy 24 (from Vail) Leadville is within an easy drive of many of Colorado’s world class ski resorts.

We are surrounded by mountains rising to over 14,000 ft. with Colorado's highest peak, Mt. Elbert, at 14,433 ft. providing a breathtaking backdrop to our community. Our rich history includes such well know names as the “Unsinkable” Molly Brown, Horace and Baby Doe Tabor, to name a few. Browse through these pages to see some of what we have to offer.
